I’m VB Bonny, an author of romance, dark poetry, and emotionally intense fiction. My work lives in the shadows most people avoid: heartbreak, longing, vengeance, obsession, the echoing tragedies of being human and I aim to pen them the only way I know how: honestly. You can even imagine the scenes right before your eyes too.

Where VB Bonny’s Dark Romance Voice Comes From

People assume dark romance means twisted characters, violent obsession, or red-flag love. And sometimes it does. But that’s not what drives me.

My work often gets labelled as dark romance, and it fits because my stories explore obsession, longing, and the emotional shadows that define human relationships.”

What pulls me toward these themes is something far simpler: truth.

The truth behind why we love the people who hurt us. The truth behind why heartbreak feels like home to some. The truth behind why some memories stay louder than reality. The truth behind how a single moment can reroute an entire life.

I don’t write darkness for shock value. I write it because it’s honest.

Because love isn’t always gentle. Because desire rarely follows logic. Because some relationships teach us more in their breaking than in their beginning.

My poetry grows from the same place, we overlook. I’ve always believed poems don’t come from the mind; they come from the places we refuse to visit.

Why I Write the Way I Do

I don’t believe in perfect characters. I believe in difficult ones.

People who love incorrectly. People who want too much. People who stay silent when they should confess. People who break things because they’re scared to be broken first.

I’ve never connected with polished love stories where everyone heals by chapter twelve. Real people aren’t like that.

Real people:
